What a lovely piece of writing. I grew up with horses, although not at a racetrack. You paint such a vivid picture that I can smell the smells and hear the sounds.

But this…”I don’t care that much about what the new earth will be like, in itself, as much as what it will be like to be with Him, and to be done with sinning or seeing others sin. To have run the race.”This made my heart sing.

I’m grateful to Tim Challies for sharing this today.

Oh and I believe there will be horses in the new earth. If they were in the garden of Eden, they will be in the new garden ❤️

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m working on some other stuff right now, but I expect to frequently return to this theme of horses and the racetrack and farm life in my writing here…

I wish I could thank Tim Challies for sharing! That was a surprise.

Thanks for reading :)

What a beautiful story, poultice and oats and all!

(I even know where Pimlico is, having been born and raised in Arlington, VA.)

Keep writing, Jesalyn. You have a gift and a calling.

Thank you 😊 I really appreciate the encouragement. Especially when your writing is so good, it soooorta makes me want to hide mine from you! 😅

That said...

After two weeks of musing on an idea and yet, being too down to start it, I did just finally write out the first long chunk of a rough draft for my next piece (I have to sit down with pencil and paper to get going...twirling the pencil between my fingers and staring out the window into the middle distance now and then is an essential part of my process, lol) and it lit my brain up enough that I think I know where I'm going with it now. So thanks again for the gentle prodding! 🙃

Oh, is this good. :) I sent the link to a friend. You tell a story very, very well. Thank you.

What a beautiful piece of writing. I was carried off to another place where the sights, smells, and “feel” of the place felt real. I was there. And my appreciation of 1 John 2 deepened. Please do write more!

Thank you, what a lovely encouragement! I am filling notebooks as we speak…though I don’t expect to be particularly prolific for some time ;) I’m a completely novice writer and just trying for the first time in my life to develop some discipline with it. But I will be plugging away at it!
